Unique cocktail menu, and food tastes amazing. Service is excellent! Parking is available, would recommend going during the day because at night it tends to get very busy.

Nice small spot with mostly bar type seating. It seemed a bit busy and I know some people were waiting for an open spot in the attached bar. We were lucky and were able to get seats soon after we arrived. They specialize in hand rolls. And have a good selection of them on the menu. They also have a few sets and I would suggest those because you save a few $$. Speaking of the $. Most hand rolls are around $7 each and a meal can get pricy very fast. The service was very good and there was a lot of staff able to help. The Japanese beer selection was off the charts. I saw beer here that I have only seen in Japan. A good selection of signature cocktails also. Tokyo Layover cocktail, $13: Nice cocktail with a balance of smoky Mezcal with a the right about of sweetness. Would recommend. Handrolls set of 4, $23: all the handrolls are a good size I would say they are bigger than average. And the filling runs throughout the roll and is not just on the end. Spicy Tuna, good. Actually had a bit of spice to it. Salmon. Ok. Not bad but not as good as the tuna. Fired Oyster, Very good. Oyster was fried perfectly and the roll had a great taste, highly recommend. Blue crab, ok. Hitachino Red Rice beer, $10. If you are wanting to try something a bit different this is a good beer to try. Sweet with lots of fruity notes. They only thing I can compare it to would be a less intense Lambic Framboise. I would recommend trying Hando especially during a happy hour. Everything we had was good to very good. It is a bit pricey but if you are just looking for a small snack and a drink its not a bad place to try. Would recommend and return.

We visited Hando with a party of three on 12/27/2024 at about 5pm. This was my first visit to this restaurant; however, one of the people in our party was a veteran. We actually started at the bar next door. Please visit this bar, as it is pretty awesome. It is a nice space, with lots of drinks, even better at Happy Hour. I had The Audacity, which was sweet and right up my alley. When we moved over to the restaurant, we were seated at the counter. This place does fill up quickly, which is why we opted to dine early. The service is great at this location. We had everything very promptly, and everything that we ordered was delivered. I had the four piece hand roll set, which included the Tuna, Salmon, Blue Crab and Fried Oyster. The table also shared some Brussel Sprouts, Karaage and some spiced chicken. Everything we had was delicious! I would most definitely return here again in the future.

Hando is an easy date night fav. While I'm not a raw sushi girlie, I do love a good tempura and crab roll which Hando has. The food comes out quickly, and the chefs and bartenders have a good hand on the food and drinks they make.

Hando was the perfect Sat afternoon lunch when you want to treat yourself a bit without getting overly full. I loved how relatively healthy it was because it's just a mix of fresh fish, warm steamed rice, crispy nori, and whatever extra little toppings they use for flavor. Since Hando is only a small 20 seat sushi counter, service here was really fast. They purposely course you out 1 handroll at a time so that each handroll is at its peak freshness and made to order. Ambiance is casual yet fun, perfect for a date. Don't forget to try their cocktails as well, and if there happens to be a wait you can hang out in their connecting bar, Kanpai Club. If it's your first time here, I recommend getting the 5 handroll set so you get to try all of the classics. Then if you're still hungry, I highly recommend trying whatever specials they are currently offering. I'd say the only slight downside to coming here is the price if you're coming here really hungry. It can get expensive for a lunch if you're hungry, but not unreasonable for a nicer date night. Luckily, they also have happy hour daily from 3-6pm that makes it a little easier on the wallet. Enjoy!

We had a good and tasty lunch at Hando! There are only 20 seats available, but luckily they weren't busy on a weekend afternoon. I got their 4 piece hand roll set (tuna, salmon, blue crab, and fried oyster). Good thing I wasn't starving, otherwise I would definitely have had to order more items. Our server was very friendly and the interior allows a lot of natural light in. I'd come back for their happy hour (everyday from 3-6pm) or their lunch specials.

Came here as part of Houston Restaurant Week, and had a good experience! All the hand rolls were incredibly fresh and I loved the bar experience. The interior was super nice, but probably can't accommodate for larger parties. The one thing that I did get as part of the HRW menu I was not a fan of was the chicken meatballs. The meatballs were on the colder/room temperature side and the flavor was not anything super mind-blowing. I would still come back and grab a quick but filling meal here if I were in the area!

We have been a few times and they've always been super consistent. The food is always fresh, light yet filling, and flavorful. When we want to treat ourselves to really good sushi, we like to come here. Also, this is an ideal place for a date night. They are always busy so expect about 30 mins to an hour wait. While you wait, you can go to their bar room and snack and/or drink. Once you're seated, there is a small saucer plate with a white tab. When they pour water on it, it'll grow and you can use that like a wipe to clean your hands before you eat your sushi. Free but small parking out front .
